Gregg Weiss, first rate crew member on Zia, enjoying the mellow conditions day 1.

Lunch is served shortly after the start of the race.

Sunset after our first day.

It was so mellow, we were able to finish a couple of days of school on the way!

Juliana calls in our position at the 7:30pm check-in.

The crew proudly displays our first fish caught on Zia.

Christy decided she better learn how to do this in anticipation of the many fish we will catch from now on......

The spinnaker looked great, right up until the point it tore straight across the top fifth of the sail.

One of the many meals under way.....

It sure doesn't look too rough in the pictures but it was blowing in the 30's here....

Christy and Cassie on the morning we finished.

Lew, Joe and Gregg, with our first landfall in the background.

It didn't take long for the girls to discover the pool.

Dinner on Zia with Rex, Gregg, Lew, Florrie, Po and John Martin.

The crew of Blueprint Match, who spent many extra hours out assisting another boat who had lost it's rig.

Art lessons with Lew's wife, Florrie.

John and Po Martin's girls, Jamie (blue headscarf) and Skylar join in the art lessons.
